The design team at Real Room Designs was commissioned to provide extensive storage capacity for the customer incorporating built in wardrobes with hanging space, drawers and shelves. We are often asked to come up with innovative designs to provide storage solutions in bedrooms of all sizes – large and small. We are famous for our mantra Use That Space. In this instance the aim was to include hanging rails as well as internal drawers and multiple shelves. All of this storage capacity was to be hidden behind extremely attractive fitted doors.
Designing The Built In Wardrobes
The bedroom was fairly small, as you can see from the first image. However, with a little bit of creative thinking we were able accommodate the customers wishes. The back wall of the bedroom would have the main wardrobes in a traditional style. There was to be hanging rails with ample space to hang clothes along with internal drawers and shelves. The configuration and proportions of these storage solutions were dictated by the customer. The customer decided where she wanted the drawers, shelves and hanging rails to go.
The side wall, next to the bedroom door, would under normal circumstance have been dead space. But not in this case. We were able to use the flat side wall as an extra storage space. This would become a shallow wardrobe with opening doors to match the main built in wardrobes. The storage, however, would be made up entirely of 7 shelves. All that useful storage capacity hidden behind the elegant closing doors. What a great idea!
Finally The Built In Wardrobes
From the initial design the build for our fitters was fairly straightforward. The entire build only took one day to complete. This was because most of the cutting was done in advance at our workshop. Once we agree the design with the customer accurate measurements are taken and a CAD is prepared. From this CAD drawing we are able to prepare the bespoke requirements of the project in advance. Once the doors had been fitted and the handles were fixed in place, we were able to show the new bedroom to the customer. An incredibly happy customer was shown her new built in wardrobes with hanging space, drawers and shelves.
